From jackets to 'shackets', the Westbourne overshirt seemed like a logical next step as our first offering in a new line of lighter weight layering options.
Cut from an unusual two tone blend of cotton (88%) and linen (12%) from Northern Italy, this distinctive fabric has been pigment dyed only on one side before being put through a specialist treatment process midway through production in order to create a deliberately distressed and faded appearance.
The end result is resolutely more rugged than refined - a hardy, classic summer overshirt, each with a unique character that will subtly evolve with every wear and wash.
In our experience overshirts tend not to need regular washing, certainly when compared to regular shirts. Should you need to throw your Westbourne overshirt in the wash however, we recommend a regular machine wash at no more than 30 degrees. Always wash with similar colours and hang up to dry afterwards. Avoid the tumble dryer!
Please note that the blended cotton and linen construction of this fabric, together with the unique way in which the colour has been applied mean that it is likely to gently fade and develop further character over time.
